Barcelona and Bayern Munich are set to face off each other

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are set to face off each other in an epic challenge in the Champions League semifinals after being drawn against each other.

The match is going to be an emotional affair for many involved in the tie, but particularly, the German team manager. Pep Guardiola will be returning to the Camp Nou for the first time since leaving the club a few years ago. He transformed the team into world beaters and their style is still trying to be replicated by many clubs across the world. Even Guardiola himself has not been able to replicate this passing style of football and Bayern Munich are slightly inconsistent in this regard.

After facing a major scare following a 3-1 defeat against Porto in the first leg, Bayern Munich blitzed to a 7-4 aggregate victory after a fantastic second leg performance.

They were already one of the favourites to lift the competition and this has only increased after this impressive win over Porto. Barcelona, meanwhile, have been steadily racking up the victories in European and domestic competitions. They are top of the la Liga and will also be involved in the Copa del Rey final. Defender Gerard Pique was very much criticised for his performances in the early part of the campaign, but his form has shown substantial improvement in recent times.

“I don’t think that we need to avoid Bayern in the Champions League semi-finals. We are playing in the Champions League semi-finals and everything will be difficult. When you’re in the semi-finals of the Champions League you need to be really good and need a little bit of luck. Congratulations to Pep, though, Bayern must have played a good game. It is definitely a good score to win 6-1. I think we are getting better and better. We are playing good football,” said Pique.
